The Story

Laura George, a national expert in the area of emergency preparedness for people with disabilities and their caregivers, approached us through our strategic partner, Jackie Schwabe, to help her rework and re-publish her Emergency Preparedness Plan workbook. Previously, she worked with another publisher, and unfortunately, her book had a number of significant issues:

  • The content contained numerous spelling, grammatical, and formatting errors
  • Source files for the manuscript were unavailable
  • The title had a misspelling on the cover of the book
  • The cover design was neither professional nor engaging
  • Marketing efforts were nonexistent and sales were anemic

Vacano Creative worked collaboratively with both Laura and Jackie at Press Play Lifestyle to rebuild the manuscript, including a thorough editorial review. We produced a far more attractive and engaging cover for the workbook. We launched the book early in 2019, and are now ramping up marketing efforts. So far, the book is receiving far more interest, and we are optimistic about the prospects for long-term sales.
